Common questions
Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. The free plan stays free, holds no card, and has no trial countdown on it.
What counts as a server, and what counts as a check?
A server is one host running the agent. A check is one configured check running from outside. They are counted separately, so installing the agent costs you no checks.
Can one status page show both servers and checks?
Yes. A status page carries any mix of servers and checks from a project, added individually or by group.
What happens if I downgrade?
Your status page keeps serving. The custom domain, branding and JSON API stop applying until you are back on a plan that includes them. Nothing is deleted, and restoring the plan restores them as they were.
Do extra check regions cost more?
No. The region count is how many places each check can run from, and it is included in the plan price rather than metered.
What does data retention cover?
How far back your check results and server metrics stay queryable — the window your charts and uptime history can look into. Incidents and their timelines are not deleted on that schedule.
